PCS Analysis
Since 1995 the KFN has been analyzing police crime statistics for Germany and its individual states on a regular basis. Official data on criminal prosecution and correction are also included in these analyses. The ongoing observation of the data makes it possible to analyze a large number of special research questions in detail and to monitor the whole area of jurisdiction and correction in criminal cases. A considerable archive of data has accumulated over the years. It contains case data for the states of the “old” Federal Republic of Germany from 1971 and for the new federal states from 1993. The findings made are occasionally the subject of KFN publications but are mainly used in research projects carried out by the KFN.
