Research areas and projects
KFN is dedicated to the study of trends in reported and unreported crime, investigating the causes of crime, identifying risk groups and studying the consequences of crimes for victims, perpetrators and society. These issues are investigated by interdisciplinary project teams, always with the aim of rapid transference of findings to crime policy practice.
A classification of projects by research area shows the main topics covered by KFN on a long-term basis. Due to the interlocking nature of the issues concerned, the demarcations are not always clear-cut.
